Pelo Camp in Botswana offers guests a true safari adventure, situated in the heart of the mysterious Okavango Delta. The camp offers only 5 guest tents which are protected by massive fig and jackalberry trees creating a tranquil setting and promising a personalized safari experience. Pelo Camp is surrounded by water which means the emphasis here, as far as safari activities are concerned, are centered around mokoro (traditional dug-out canoe) trips, a thrilling activity allowing you to experience the wildlife and beauty of the Okavango Delta at close range. Guests can also enjoy nature walks and motorboat excursions accompanied by an experienced guide.

A traditional tented safari camp set deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Pelo Camp is small and intimate, and leaves a light footprint with a spectacular location in one of the most beautiful areas in Botswana. The word Pelo in the local Setswana language means ‘heart’ – a name inspired by the distinct heart-shaped island on which the camp is built. Pelo camp offers guests a remote and thrilling safari adventure with passionate staff that will see to your every need.

The main camp area consists of a tented dining area and lounge situated under the trees with a plunge pool offering a cool retreat in the midday heat. There is also an outdoor boma area and a raised lookout deck perfect for sundowners. The five intimate guest tents, complete with a covered front veranda, have en-suite bathrooms with both an indoor and outdoor shower.

The safari activities at Pelo camp include mokoro excursions (traditional dug-out canoe), seasonal boat trips as well as walking safaris, subject to guides being available, which offer close encounters with wildlife in their natural habitat.
