Leon Philander
Specialist DriverLeon started as a specialist driver with Authentick in 2019. He loves driving and meeting new people from all over the world. This includes actors and actresses and even a StarWars director! His favourite food is lasagne and prefers summer as his favourite season. When he is not driving, he sometimes joins his guests on boat trips and sports events. His sports teams are the Springboks, Western Province Stormers, Germany and Manchester United and if he gets time for fun, he likes snorkelling, swimming and making short videos.
Lourens Erasmus
Tour GuideTrained tour guide and driver Lourens Erasmus joined Authentick in 2019 but has lived in the town for over two decades. Initially he was recruited to consult on various tourism matters because of his 18 years of experience in the tourism industry, but was soon driving and guiding visitors in and round Hermanus. Apart from driving and guiding, Lourens assists with training new drivers. Lourens is also a pasta lover and enjoy a glass of good red wine on his off days. His favourite sport? “To work with tourists”.
John Peter
Tour GuideTourguide John Peter has been doing freelance work for Authentick since 2019. He loves meeting new people and showing them the beauty of the Western Cape province especially the diversity of people, cultures and nature. His favourite food is spaghetti bolognaise and his drink of choice is a good espresso. John loves hiking, reading biographies and history and supports the Springbok rugby team and the Proteas cricket players.
Simphiwe Malunda
Specialist DriverDriver Simphiwe Malunda loves the diversity of guests and hearing different languages on his favourite routes to the airport and the V&A Warterfront. Questions he often answers are about the town and recommended activities which obviously includes whales and wines. Supporting soccer teams Kaiser Chiefs and Man United is exhausting business and he fortifies himself with pap and meat as well as cranberry juice. He would love to have a dog and if he gets his day as Minister of Tourism, he would do his best to sort out the quality of the roads, crime and the cleanliness of the country.
Brandon Arnoldus
Operations ManagerOperational manager Brandon Arnoldus loves working with his fantastic Authentick team to deliver world-class customer service. He enjoys dealing with clients from all over to solve to solve a problem of getting from point A to point B. Brandon enjoys diving and water-sports but his favourite land-based sport is supporting the ‘Bokke'. He loves springtime and steak, plays the piano in his church band and helps out with filming and editing.
Cally Hess
Accommodation & BookingsAdmin and reservations officer Cally Hees loves that every workday is different and busy. She loves to feel like she is working when she is working but her office in the Village Square near the historical old harbour, makes her feel as if she is on holiday, especially during her favourite season - whale time. She is not an enthusiastic cook - she can make pasta - but much rather prefer sushi from AK Sushi or TaiShan at the Hemel-en-Aarde Village. In her free time, Cally enjoys doing gel nails and likes easy sewing projects.
